Do not ingest. For external use only. Excessive exposure will cause skin to tingle. Keep out of eyes. Use in well ventilated room. Do not directly inhale.

DIRECTIONS: In a glass or plastic mixing container, slowly stir 1 part Vanilla Color Stabilizer to 2 parts fragrance oil. When mixing with fragrances with over 10% vanilla, use a 1 to 1 ratio. Stir well and allow to sit for 2 minutes then immediately add to base formula. Mixture best used within 15 minutes of mixing.

TIPS: This product prevents the vanilla in fragrance oils from turning finished products brown. It will not prevent color changes in ingredients other than vanilla. Do not store this product after mixing. The stabilizer will turn into a solid state in temperatures below 68°F. To return to a liquid state, place bottle in warm water. Test your final product to insure optimal performance.

STORAGE: Store in an airtight, cool, dark location. When stored properly, best used within 1 year from date of purchase.

Used with FO at 13% vanilla Used at a 1:1 ratio. Results were good. The stabilizer did not eliminate all of the discolor, but did result in a slightly yellow/cream color when used with titanium dioxide. Overall I am happy with the results.

If the fragrance has a high vanilla content (over 15%), the stabilizer may lessen the discoloration, but not entirely stop it from happening. Fragrances can also contain other ingredients that can cause darkening of the product, not just vanilla. For the majority of fragrances, the stabilizer works very well.

Works!! First of all I'm very happy this even exists. With that being said, there is something weird about the finished bar. It's all white and pretty but whatever surface of the soap was exposed to the air and not covered by the mold gets a greasy brown layer on it. I mean you can clean it off I guess with a damp rag but if you have designs and stuff you could ruin them. So strange. I'll clean them with the rag, better that then the blackish brown mess

Only Vanilla Stabilizer I will ever use again! Very impressed with this product. I have used vanilla stabilizers in the past that are very strong in the odor they produce prior to being added to CP soap batter. This one however does have a odor but it does not appear to be as strong as other brands I have used in the past. Did not speed up trace or cause any problems in the CP soap recipe I used it in. And! It worked very well, my colors remained true with no discoloration at all! Very happy about that!

Some fragrances may have other ingredients in them that cause color change. The Vanilla Color Stabilizer only counteracts the effects of Vanilla in your final product.

it did keep most of the soap white. I think it did a great job keeping the soap white. The tops and small parts of my swirl turned beige. It looked like a light beige foam coated the tops. I wish I could post pic didn't ruin the soap. Note: I hand mixed it so maybe I should have used a hand blended to make sure it was blended throughly. Also, I believe it made my bars soft. I plan to do a test batch and I will give another review about the soft bars, make sure that wasn't my error.

Did Not Work For Me
I used this with the Blueberry fragrance oil. No browning for 2 weeks and then POOF. Suddenly my soap was light brown.

Besides vanilla, fragrance oils may contain other components that will turn your soap brown. The vanilla color stabilizer only works with the vanilla content of the fragrance oil.

CP Vanilla Stabilizer Like someone else had mentioned before me, I wish the usage rates were on the bottle. I really wish I had checked again myself because I had gotten it mixed up with the usage rates of an MP vanilla stabilizer I use often. I used far too much (1-1 ratio). I made two batches that I will have to dump because they smell so bad. One of them even completely changed color overnight. It turned from a dark pink to a pale yellow-orange color. I'm giving it two stars because it does work, you just have to be very careful how much you use. I have used it in previous soap before, but the soap eventually did get darker. It did contain a high amount of vanilla though.

Vanilla Colour Stabilizer Bought this a while ago and have used it in several batches of soap with great success so far! I haven't noticed any discoloration of the various soaps due to FO's, after using this VCS with it, even when using it with FO's from other companies. It's very easy to use, and just requires that you mix it together with the FO just a few minutes before adding it to your soap "batter." Overall I am happy with the purchase and will more than likely buy it again, when needed. :)

Didn't work for me!
I did a test batch with this and the scent had some vanillin in it but not a lot. The soaps did well during cure but when I used a bar it turned dark brown in my shower. I was disappointed for sure! Now they are about 2 months old the whole loaf is turning brown :(

Is there a chance your loaf soap has an ingredient besides vanilla that will turn brown? It would be interesting to know the pH of your final loaf. This will not work in higher than usual pH soaps.

Works most of the time.
This vanilla stabilizer worked well at stopping discoloring for most of my soap scents containing vanilla except the ones that contain a lot of vanilla. Those started discoloring a week into curing and got worse over time. For a fragrance oil that contains like 1%-5% vanilla this works great but with scents containing over 10% it would be better to just plan for a brown color to being with.

Crafter's Choice Response:

For fragrances with over 10% vanilla we recommend to use a 1:1 ratio of stabilizer to fragrance. Unfortunately fragrances with a high vanilla content may still turn over time, the stabilizer may just help to delay this.

Wonderful I use this in CP and HP Soaps. I personally do 1:1 ratio with fragrance oils with a vanilla content up to 9%. It works fabulous! With vanilla content 10% or more I add a little more. With some T.D. added I get a Fabulous white that does not discolor over time. Love this product!!!!!

Loved this for CP soaping I learned the hard way that when you make anything with a fragrance oil that has any vanillin, your product (in this case, cp soap) will turn brown. It is just the nature of the product. Some people embrace the color, however I wanted to see if I could get soap to stay it's original color and not turn. I have been successful in doing so with this product. I recently made a small batch of soap with a very high vanilla content fragrance oil, and it is still the same color it was when I made it (over a month ago). Once I run out, I will buy more.

Never make my Vanilla Based Cp Soaps without it! This does a great job of preventing the cold process soap from discoloring. If you are using a FO that is more than 10% vanillin content; this wont prevent 100% of the discoloration, nothing will. However, it does halt the progression of the discoloration so that it doesn't keep going darker and darker during cure. I will never make another vanilla based CP soap without using this ever again.

Does a great job, but DON'T SNIFF IT!! We soapers are always opening little bottles of loveliness and sniffing away, 99% of the time, ecstatic with our new ingredients! Yeah, seriously, no sniffing this one. It ain't pretty. It does, however, stabilize color in my vanilla soaps very nicely. I used a 1 to 2 ratio against my fragrance in a totally vanilla soap, and it came out the loveliest beige...best of all, it's STAYING that way! I tried a 1 to 1 ratio last week in an apple spice soap, and my purposeful red is staying red, and the white is staying white. I'm very impressed. With the vanilla soap, you could tell right away that there would be some coloring, nice though it was, and at 24 hours, the color was finished changing. With this one, and a higher ratio, not a hint of color change so far! I fully intend to bring back soaps that didn't sell last year because they turned nearly black!! Anyone want some Butterscotch Bliss soap that looks like poo? Cheap... No? Right then...I'll be using this color stabilizer every time I use vanilla content. ;-)

Works Great! I use it in CP Goat Milk Soap with colors. It really does keep the vanilla discoloring under control. Not much of a learning curve with most scents just use as directed. So far Dragon's Blood is the only fragrance that darkened, but the colors can still be seen. Just use a tad more next time no big deal.

Works well.. But a tad stinky. I have it 5 stars because it does what it's intended to do which is make vanilla FO turn cp soaps brown. Nothing bad enough to keep me from using though, just wish it wouldn't do this. Maybe my nose is more picky. I am quite sensitive to smells and notice subtle changes.

Keep your whites White I Love to have Vanilla Cold process soap stay white/ or Cream, and this does and effective job. However i have noticed that as the soap cures, the edges and top turn brown and look a little textured. I just cut the sides and top off. When i wash with my Vanilla Shea soap that is use this product in, the bar appears to just have the outside layer white and the inside is brown~ like a reverse Toasted Marshmallow appearance~ Very Cool. Plan on ordering it and using it. It's a Great product. I would just use a little more than the recommended "dose" to prevent the brown top and edges next time.

My customer will be thrilled. I was using a fragrance with 11% Vanilla and Vanilla too. That is strong vanilla but this worked at a 1:1 ratio. Vanilla Stabilizer

I own a home-based soap and other bathing needs online company. I stumbled across this little gem of a site in a bit of a panic looking for a product that would help stop my soap batches from turning that ugly orangey-brown dull color that happens with you use vanilla in your soaps. It worked wonders for me! Since receiving & using these, I honestly haven’t had a problem with that ugly color since. They were extremely responsive, and expedited my order. They made sure to keep me posted about any issues or problems happening with my order and were wonderful to work with all the way until my products were delivered.
