Upbeat, Funky Floral!
This floral, in my opinion, is a fresh twist on gardenia. I'll give you the short version first: Raspberry Gardenia. Now, to go into more detail, the aroma I got from this one in the wax was pretty close to how it smelled OOB, only it bloomed and became even more pleasant in the wax. I smell beautiful white, waxy, floral notes of gardenia and tuberose, but this one goes one step further and combines these floral notes with a fresh macerated raspberry smell. As far as the 'iris' note, well, I think the is more marketing than anything--there is nothing wrong with that. But I don't think irises have much of an aroma compared to the heady notes of gardenia and tuberose, and I think you get those notes in this lively fragrance. The raspberry is a neat element because it balances the waxy white floral notes perfectly in the same way that the birthday cake offsets the frosting--too much of even a good thing can be too much. The berry notes in Iris Berry give it just the right amount of lift. I'd highly recommend this as an upscale alternative to ordinary gardenia. It is plenty strong!
