This fragrance opens with bright cucumber, juicy mandarin and freesia bud notes.

The main theme is filled with aroma of jasmine, pink water lily, southern gardenia, red candied rose petals and creme brulee accord.

Base note is a mixture of cedar wood, sandalwood, vanilla and marshmallow.

Brisk, Clean, Feminine

My review is based on this scent's performance alone. Coach Poppy performs well, and if you like the signature scent that Coach pipes into their retail stores years ago, you will enjoy this fragrance. My test candle threw after just five days, and that says something. It is strong. The dominant notes to me are cucumber, and perfume--it is like a culmination of perfume scents that hit you when you walk into a department store and pass by the cologne counter. It is pleasant. It is not a fragrance I personally appreciate, but I can see how many would like it. It has an acidic bite to it and I think that is the cucumber top note. There is a dull note in the background underneath what I consider a generic perfume note, and that makes this one a bit more interesting. I believe it is the marshmallow mentioned in the description (and also described by Coach if you bother to research it). I was somehow expecting the marshmallow to be a gourmand note, much like how there is a predominant chocolate note in Thierry Mugler's Angel. There is nothing that stands out as gourmand in Coach Poppy. There are certain colognes I like because they smell "different" and "distinctive." Fahrenheit, for example, is one you wouldn't easily forget or confuse with any other cologne. Coach Poppy lacks distinction for me, but it may be completely memorable for you. I'd encourage you to give it a try if you want a cologne that smells fresh, crisp and with an etherial bite of grounding cucumber. This is not a white floral composition. It is more brisk and acidic. I find SS fragrance oils to be of a superior grade so far in my testing.
