A Cheerful Alternative to Lemon
The description indicates that this is an oriental fragrance for women, and I would say I don't associate this fragrance with anything oriental. This fragrance is a sugary citrus blend. The mandarin note registers the most, but it is artfully blended--I can tell that the other fruits listed are present in the blend, but my nose doesn't pick them out individually. I think that is the mark of a well rounded fragrance. I have zero idea why anyone would refer to this as an oriental fragrance for women, but then again, I don't walk around sniffing Asian women. I expected a spicy perfume note, but there just isn't one; it's all fruit. I experimented with Satsuma in recipes in places where the formulation called for lemon or orange, and I have to say I am impressed with Satsuma's scent throw and added dimension of intrigue. It's clearly a citrus, but a more upscale representation. I found this one also blends with both marshmallow and cologne, and it assimilated in the recipes effortlessly. I will keep this one around to create custom fruity, cologne, or gourmand fragrances. What a nice alternative to lemon or orange.
